The links here are for the main organizations the sport for youth softball. Most rules are similar but each league may have specific differences in rules. Also, each organization may or may not have affiliates in your area. To find out more about each organization, just click the link to their web site.

Amateur Softball Association
USA Softball

ASA is now USA Softball (USAS). It is also the home of Team USA. USA Softball has been designated by the US Olympic Committee as the official governing body of softball.

American Fastpitch Association

The AFA was created to promote girls fastpitch softball and also added adult slow pitch softball in 2008.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation

The WBSC is the international governing body of baseball and softball. The WBSC has 198 National Federations and 12 Associate Members in 138 countries and territories.

Little League

Also known as Little League Baseball & Softball, and Little League International, Little League promotes amateur baseball and softball around the world.

National Pro Fastpitch

NPF is the main professional fastpitch league in the USA. NPF has suspended their 2020 and 2021 seasons due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Another professional sports idea is also underway. Athletes Unlimited. No head coaches, no owners, just drafts??? They also competition in Volleyball and Lacrosse.

National Softball Association

Established in 1982 by Hugh Cantrell in Lexington, Kentucky. The National Softball Association is a full service organization that offers a division of play and a level of competition that YOUTH through ADULT can enjoy.

Pony Baseball and Softball

Pony Baseball and Softball has been around since 1951. Check the web site to find a team or league in your area.

Triple Crown Sports

Triple Crown Sports has been around since 1982. They hold competition in baseball, fast- and slow-pitch softball, Lacrosse, and Volleyball.

Premier Girl's Fastpitch (PGF)

PGF holds regional and national tournaments in fastpitch softball.

United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA)

U "Trip" is USSSA is commonly called, holds competition in fastpitch and slowpitch softball, as well as several other sports.
